How feasible is it to convert an office condo (in San Francisco) to a residential condo?
I am asking more in regards to the legal aspect and the paperwork involved. I know that in SF, converting a residential condo to commerical condo is more or less impossible. But what about the other way around? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
It will entirely depend upon the zoning of the place. For example, if it is zoned for multiple uses (meaning commercial OR residential), the obstacles are lesser. If it is purely zoned as commercial, it will take a zoning amendment to pass by the Building Codes Department, as well as City Council. In other words, it will likely NOT happen!
