Like to dine on? Yes, I am referring to the furry 4-legged friends patrolling your house on constant mouse detail.
I have a kitten that devours popcorn and mangles loaves of bread. For a week, we thought we had a rodent tearing open and eating the bread. Hard to believe, since we have 6 cats.

If you mistreat your cat then you may lose their respect and friendship. This often happens, simply because owners do not understand or think about their cat. Cats can misbehave but they do not do this deliberately. Owners can become frustrated when this happens and specially if they can't catch the cat while they are engaged in crime.
It is better to make the cats notice their own faults by pointing them towards their own mischievous acts or behaviour (for example, a wet spot on the carpet or scratches on the furniture). If you can do this, it is the best opportunity to discipline them. Even if they have relived themselves, though unintentionally, you should try and grab the cat, pointing out the mischief, and dragging it to the litter box and forcing him to dig in the litter. Don't forget that the cat is also an intelligent animal.
So, the key to training is to make sure that whatever you want your cat to do is exceedingly rewarding and pleasurable. Whatever you don't want your cat to indulge in must never be rewarding or fun.
The most effective method of cat training is through rewards, by cajoling and not by becoming vindictive or reactionary. Therefore is better is to set up the cat's environment so he can succeed. This will give you the opportunity to reward and praise him for good behavior.
An example would be to make the activity unpleasant. If your cat urinates in an odd place, then put something that he loves in that place - he will not be keen to spoil his own possessions. Make his home full of pleasant things and he will, eventually, avoid spoiling them. Simply castigating them after the event serves no useful purpose.
