My dog chews up everything how can I get him to stop?

He is a bulldog mix about 18 months old. When I leave home I put him in my fenced in backyard. Lots of room for him to run and play. I make sure he has plenty of toys but he still chews up everything. I come home one day and he had chewed the wood off my building and rails off my porch. I don't wont to crate him when I'm gone. I have tried walking him everyday before I go to work but it doesn't help.

he needs to be walked daily at least once a day for 45 minutes. 10 minutes on a leash a few times a week won't help.

1. Crating is fine as long as you will be gone no longer than 6 hours. If you will be longer than that call a friend or neighbor and have them come over and let the dog out for at least 15 minutes to stretch, relieve himself and have some water.

2. Hire someone to come over in the middle of the day while you're gone to take him for a 1 hour walk (this is in addition to your 45 minute walk with him prior to going to work)

3. Rehome the dog.

Your dog is bored and lonely and therefore destructive. Dogs are smart and pack animals and even though it seems to you that he has plenty of room and should be satisfied, dogs are hardwired for long distance walks with their packs every day of their lives.
