What is this dog collar called?
I seen on this show they put these collars on dogs, its a chain then small sharp pricks pointing inwords toward the dogs neck so it obays owner. I think thats disgusting and bascially dog abusment. I'd like to know if anyone knows the name of the Collar. If not thanks anyways.
I hope you don't use these types of dog collars for your dog.
Shanna:
You are right on the money...it does not hurt the dog and it is not abuse in any way...if it was do you think stores would be allowed to sell them??? Think and research them before you pass judgement and comments. If you have a strong, dominant dog you NEED to have one.
When you think leather dog collar, you probably think of dogs like Brutus the Bulldog or Rocco the Rottweiler wearing them; it seems unlikely that Binky the Bichon Frisée will have a leather dog collar on. After all, let's be honest: leather is often associated with tough bikers, bold rock stars and swaggering cowboys. When you think "leather" you think whoever is wearing it, is both the epitome of cool and will get the job done if it needs doing.
Leather dog collars have the reputation of being worn on 'bad' dogs or 'tough' dogs. The dog you see walking down the street with a leather collar on, is the one that looks proud and self-confident. It also looks like the dog that could protect you [and themselves] if it ever came to that. But don't kid yourself: small dogs that don't have those reputations, can fool even the most knowledgeable dog expert.
With the explosion of dog products in the ever popular and always growing pet market, it's difficult to know which collar to buy; what to choose, where to buy it and what to pay for it, is getting harder and harder to decide on given the over abundance of 'stuff' constantly thrown at you. If you are in fact going for the rock star look, you don' have to look much further than a leather dog collar.
Your pup can even channel its inner punk rocker by sporting a leather collar with spikes. A spiked leather dog collar will certainly make a statement no matter what dog is wearing it. And, like most collars (except those made of chain), the one made of leather goes easily around a dog's neck. They are made with a series of holes (like on a belt) found on one part of the leather and the other part is fastened through the hole of your choosing for best fit on your dog.
If leather dog collars are your preference and if you are a serious pet owner (and even if you're not), you should always go out and do the research on anything you plan to buy for your dog. After all, you want your dog to be safe, comfortable and happy, and you, as his or her owner, also want to get the best value for you money.
