Is there an easier way to give cats a bath?

I know most cats are very afraid of water.I've tried using a shower head on low, but anything with water freaks out my cats.I been cleaning their fur with a wet cloth and pet shampoo, but they are not as clean?
I don't clean my cats that often, because they are naturally clean pets that take care of that themselves. I have one cat that loves to go in the backyard and roll around in dirt, that is particularly when he needs a bath, even with him cleaing himself, he still smells like dirt.

This is what you'll need for a proper pleasant bath.
First heat up a towel or two in the dryer or in front of a heater.
Large cooking pot filled half way with luke warm water. and a small cup and brush.
The best place is a sink. This way the cat is at eye level and won't feel like he is being hovered. Stroke your cat for a few mintes in the sink. Then dip your hand in the water and continue to stroke its back. once he is slightly wet. Put the shampoo into your hand never directly on the cat. Give him the best rub ever. Scratch behind the ears under the chin everything you know he likes.
The rinse: Get the small cup and get some water from the pot. Place the cups side against your cat and let the water flow down. Once this is done comb out the excess water if you have a short hair this may not be neccesary.
The drying. Get you fury wet friend and snuggle him in the towel. Praise him for a job well done. Get that little guy as dry as you can before letting him go. Sit with him in front of a heater. Give him a treat and then let him roam around the house. Needless to say you want him back in your yard.
