im getting a comforter that is black with white polka dots on it and im gonna accent my room with the color pink. im thinking of painting my walls pink and getting plain pink sheets to go with my comforter. will that be cute? any suggestions?

Toy Wood

what kind of wood would i use if i were to build a BIG half pipe for toy skateboards/fingerboards?

this half pipe is gonna be 12 in. tall, 36 in. wide, and 13 in inbetween ramps. It's gonna have a drop in ramp and two higher ramps that gonna be an inch taller than the regular half pipe

Wooden toys are durable and when properly cared for can last through generations. These simple steps will help you keep your child's wooden toys clean, sanitary and in good condition. We recommend that you clean all of your child's wooden items regularly and thoroughly to help prevent the spread of germs. Because our wooden toys are made of natural materials, it is important to understand the difference between unfinished and finished wooden items. Some of our wooden toys are unfinished. These toys have not been dyed or painted in any way; rather they have been left in their natural state. Our finished wooden items are treated with non-toxic dyes and natural paint finishes.

Daily Cleaning - Both finished and unfinished toys can be wiped clean with a dry cloth for daily maintenance and cleaning. Unfinished toys can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, or sponge to remove dirt, or dust and then wiped dry.

Finished toys can be gently cleaned with a natural, unabrasisve soap and limited water. Once cleaned, the moisture should be wiped away with a dry cloth and the items should be allowed to dry completely before use. A rinse of water and vinegar can be used in finished items to remove crayon marks and oil based discoloration. Regardless of either finish, soaking in water is never recommended as this can cause swelling.

Deep Cleaning- if your wooden items requires deep cleaning a bleach and water solution can be used. The ratio is as follows: 1 part household bleach to 10 parts water. Dampen a cloth in the solution and wipe the toy clean. Rinse quickly with plain water and dry with a cloth and allow the toy to air dry completely before use.

Caring for Wooden Toys

• Avoid leaving your wooden playthings outside for extended periods of time. Sun damage can fade wooden playthings over time and water damage can cause your wood toys to swell and age prematurely.

• Sand down any rough areas with fine sandpaper if the item should become splintered, or scratched.

• Do not expose your wooden items to excessive moisture unless intended as a teether.

• When it's time to clean your wooden toys, try to wipe with a dry cloth first. If a moist cloth is required to remove dirt, dampen the cloth only slightly to clean. Wipe away moisture and allow to air dry.

• Keep in mind that water is the enemy - never soak a wooden plaything as it will absorb the water.

• NEVER clean wooden toys with furniture polish. Furniture polish contains toxic materials that can be harmful if ingested by your child.

• NEVER use harsh household cleaners on wooden items as the chemicals can be absorbed by the toy.

do i need a thermometer for coldwater fish?

It has been very hot lately and i was wondering if i need a thermometer for my coldwater fish just to manage how hot and cold their water is? for example if it was a really hot day i could add some cold water to the tank. Should i get a thermometer for coldwater fish or isnt it necessary?

You don't necessarily need a thermometer, but it won't hurt to have one so that you know what the temp in the tank is. Coldwater fish technically can survive short periods of warmer water, but shouldn't be kept in tropical setups long-term, since it will shorten their lifespan due to the stress on their systems.

Many people would not consider a fish to be a “real” pet, but keeping tropical fish is a pleasurable hobby for families around the world. It’s also great for the person who is allergic to fur but stills wants some kind of company at home. If you are a complete beginner then beginning with a goldfish would be your best start, but if you want a little more of a challenge then tropical fish are the way to go.

Most people choose salt water fish because there are more choices and typically more brightly coloured fish then among freshwater fish, and it’s much simpler than having a reef aquarium. There is also an aesthetic appeal of keeping a tropical fish tank in your home because you get to design and decorate your tank. Tropical fish don’t tie you down to a lot of expenses after you set up the aquarium and buy the fish; it should cost you around $25 a year to feed a fish. But what most people appreciate most is that you don’t have to walk them, wash them, groom them, play catch with them or take them in for check-ups.

But that doesn’t mean that you can just put your fish in a tank and walk away. Tropical fish do require more care than a plant; you must know how to change the water, clean the tank, and what to feed them. A little research will help you keep your aquarium free from algae blooms and snail infestations. An absolute necessity for tropical fish is a tank heater, and you may also find a tank thermometer to be very helpful. The most commonly used heater for aquariums is a submersible heater, which you should position where it will circulate the most water, so it can spread out the heat. The thermometer should also be a submersed one because they are usually more accurate and if you are keeping tropical fish the temperature of the tank water is of the utmost importance.

As with any new hobby or endeavour, it is important to learn about the needs of the different species of tropical fish before you invite them to share your home. But with a little advance planning and preparation, you will soon come to see that keeping fish as pets can be pleasing and quite fun to do!

What colour light would a black light bulb emit?

A red bulb emits a red light; a blue bulb emits a blue light. Would a black bulb emit a black light? In other words, if a black light bulb was switched on in the daytime would it suddenly turn a bright room dark?

Black absorbs light. If you turn on a black bulb, light won't get through it.

So, you've not yet made the switch yet to compact fluorescent CFL bulbs in your home yet? Why not? Are you convinced that sticking with cheap light bulbs rather than buying the more expensive ones is a 'savings'? It is in the short term, but over the medium and long haul, using CFLs will save you money.

About 3 years ago I converted half my home's bulbs over to CFLs. My energy bill did go down a little bit each month because of that - my estimate was that it went down around between $2 and $3 per month. I had fairly predictable bills, and a predictable life routine, so I was pretty confident that this was a moderately accurate assessment. I think I'd switched over 8 or 10 bulbs at that point. Obviously my usage patterns may be different than yours, but even this modest change would mean around $25/year savings. Granted, the higher costs of CFLs meant that I'd paid more than the $25 in initial outlay, but the bulbs have lasted these past three years, and will probably last another year or so. This is much better than buying and replacing cheap light bulbs more than once per year (that was my average before).

CFLs have a couple of downsides. The first is the cost I mentioned earlier - a typical CFL 60 watt bulb might run you $1.50-$2.50 in 4 packs ($6-$8 4 packs are common at my local Target store), whereas a typical incandescent light bulb might only be 60 cents (again, comparing to 4 or 6 pack pricing). Getting over the initial shock of the up front cost, you have to worry about disposal. CFLs contain mercury, and need to be disposed of in a certain manner. Many local municipalities and some big box retailers have CFL recycling programs, but it's something else you need to consider when considering CFLs.

One last drawback some people pick up on is the light color is different from what we're used to with traditional incandescents. Early CFL technology may have been described as a bit 'colder' then traditional bulbs, but more recent CFL technology is much harder to distinguish from the old-fashioned bulbs. I can't tell a difference any more, except in my electric bill.

On the up side, because CFLs use less energy (typically only 20-30% as much as regular bulbs), they also emit less heat. This means less cooling in the summer time (although it does mean a bit more work for your heating system in the winter).

Let's do a quick recap of the pros and cons:

Pros: CFLs have longer life, use far less energy and emit less heat

Cons: Higher initial cost, contain hazardous mercury requiring professional recycling, light color is not as natural to some people.

If you've not yet joined the CFL revolution, give it a shot. Try switching just a couple of your standard bulbs over in the next week or so and see if you don't notice a difference. The only difference you *should* notice is in *your* electric bill.

hello! how can i remove oak tree drippings off outdoor fabric furniture. tried most everything with no luck?

Sometimes, your cat attacks your feet when you sit down for a rest. Or he may bite and scratch your feet as you walk around the house. Does your cat hate you? On the contrary, he is playing with you, and showing that he loves you. Nevertheless, all this biting and scratching can hurt, and is not fun for you.

There are several reasons why your cat will attack your feet and legs (besides the fact that he is short and can't reach your face when he swipes those claws of his). First of all, when he stalks and pounces on your feet, he is just playing - enacting a hunting game. He is pretending that your feet are his prey, like a mouse or bird. He is just following his natural instincts. If you have ever seen a litter of kittens play with each other, you will understand. They tumble around, roughhousing. But there will also be one or two of them who will be stalking their playmates, bellies low to the ground, ready to jump and pounce on their target.

This leads to the second reason - kitty is just playing and wants the attention of his favorite human being - YOU! He has excess energy, and wants you to play with him. Although your little tiger is just doing all this to show you his affection, you want him to stop biting and clawing your feet and legs. After all, it hurts. But you also don't want to punish him. After all, he is just doing this because he loves you.

The first thing you can do is to play with kitty regularly. You should do this two or three times everyday. Depending on how active your cat is, ten or twenty minutes of playtime in the morning and at night should keep him happy and satisfied. This will bleed off his excess energy and at the same time show him that he is Number One in your life. If he bites or scratches too hard, you may want to play with him using cat toys. A toy mouse which squeaks when your little tiger pounces on it will work well. Just drag the rubber mouse along the ground for him to chase.

Another thing you can do is to put a collar with a bell on your cat. This will help to give you a few moments warning when kitty pounces on you from ambush. At the very least, it will keep you from being surprised and tripping over him. If you carry a spray bottle of water, you can squirt him with a little bit of cold water just as he leaps on your feet. This won't hurt him, but will surprise him and he won't like it. You want to catch him in the act to discourage him, so do not spray him after he finishes pouncing on you. Remember: Only squirt him with water as he is pouncing on your feet!

Your cat attacks your feet because he is playing out his natural instincts as a hunter. He is also playing with you, just as he played with his litter mates as a small kitten. You can never really stop this behavior, but you can keep in under control. Regular scheduled playtimes, using cat toys instead of your hands and feet - these are just some of the ways you can use.

i measured my board and it is 385cm but i cant find any website where i can find a bag that size. i need one as my shed is to small for my board
