Boundary fencing 'smart dog' static pulse dog collars?

We are looking at maybe getting a pet containment system which works by radio signal and static pulse, which stops dogs from leaving the property. We have farm fencing, and our dog needs to be contained. If you've used / are using it, what are your thoughts?

I personally haven't used it but know people who have. Dogs are smarter than alot of people think people think- well most of them

My friends dogs would just waltz over the invisible border & get shocked & keep going till out of distance - other friends dogs would just fearfully cower & have no clue what was going on & became nervous wrecks because of it & everytime they saw a collar would freak out .

Also have you though about yes your dog may be ' contained' but ANY THING - wild animals, dogs ( tame & wild dogs attack & kill others animals some times ) and humans who don't act humane can come in & hurt your pet ?

Weigh all the pros & cons before buying anything good thinking to ask on yahoo !

Dog Fence System

I need a gate for my wire fence?

With my husband's help, we installed a 4ft high welded wire fence with metal posts in our yard for our two dogs. It actually looks fairly decent. We didn't get a gate though because neither Lowes nor Home Depot carried a welded wire gate or any lighter weight gate for that type of fence system. Anyone know where I could get one - maybe at a landscape company? Since I used a utility fence maybe a garden gate would work? Any ideas?

Chain link gates are easy to build and install. You could replace the chain link with the welded wire on the gate. It would blend right in.

You may have to install a post to swing the gate on, but it's easy to do.

so I'm nineteen, and when I was about seven or eight, there was a book I loved to read more than anything. Perhaps someone can help me remember what it's called. I believe the plot went (or was similar to) :

How long do electric fence batteries last?

I've just bought a new property one side fence is already electrified but i need to electrify the side near the road. how long will a normal electric fence battery last on average and can you recharge them?

How do I keep my dog in the yard?

We are moving from an apartment to a rent house that has a yard. We specifically looked for a house with a yard, so that our boxer (who is almost 1 year old) could run around outside, because she has always been in an apartment and leashed up to go outside. We would love to not have her on a leash, but the house doesnt have a fence, and they will not allow us to build one (the city has some kind of rule against fences). Is there any way that we can keep her in the yard?

Find a different house to rent in a different city.

Where in the world do they NOT allow fences, that is the craziest thing I have ever heard.

It is illegal here to leave a dog tied up, funny they do not allow fences but would be ok with a dog tied up all day.

Do not waste your time on the invisible fence. The dog can run right through the shock, not to mention marauding dogs can come and attack your dog.
