I want a new digital camera that is under $500, has a macro mode and can focus manual or automatic,, ideas?
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50: 10.1MP 12X OPTICAL ZOOM with full auto focus, manuel focus, Macro focus. now this camera is for the serious photographer. not light in weight, but takes excellent pics. This is not a DSLR but when you have a zoom capability of 35-420mm ...who needs one. this camera will let you grow into a DSLR down the road. With a threaded 55mm lens you can have tons of attachments for your liking, you can get macro conversion lenses(i have 3 so far 1+,2+ and 4+) that bring things in even closer for macros.
