1. Parrots need daily contact with their owners. – Some kinds need more care and attention than others. Cockatoo, Lorry and Jacob need special care every day. Amazons, Budgie, Conures small Africans parrots need also (though not that much) their owners’ daily attention for keeping up their spiritual tone and socializing.

2. Breeding a parrot could be a very expensive pleasure. – The issue expenses include buying a bird, a big enough bird cages and a first check-up by qualified vet. Subsequently the other required expenses are for food, MANY bird toys, a routine check up, whetting up of the wings (it’s required, not obligatory), nails and beak and sometimes help from a vet in case of emergency. Birds medicine is a very specialized field. Normally, the tests and procedures in the birds treatment cost a lot. Furthermore, it’s typical for birds to express symptoms of some kind of illness when the illness is in an advanced phase (in case when it passes sharply). Because of that fact to start a treatment in this phase is something we often call “emergency help” and as a result it’s more expensive.

3. The parrots are loud. – They live in nocks and make big groups. In the wild they keep contact one another, by the sounds they make when there is no visual contact between them. The bird has the ability to accept you as a member of its flock and that is why the sounds it makes can be interpreted as “keeping in touch” with you. Early in the morning, at sunrise, parrots call the nock to start the new day. At sunset they call the nock again to gather it and execute alighting in order to prepare themselves for their night sleep. These sounds are normal for the parrots and their owners should not get angry and harm them using mean words and to restrain them in those moments.

4. Not all parrots speak. - Although almost all parrots have the ability to learn to speak the human language, not all of them have the desire to start to speak. Some of the most chatty parrot species are the Jacob, Budgie, Yellow-forehead Amazon and double yellow-forehead Amazon, but even for these ones there is no guarantee they shall do it.

5. Birds love to make a mess all around them. – They have their very important place in the wild world because their main function is to “afforest” the wood. Regarding to that, the bird takes a piece of its food and the rest throws on the ground. So be ready to spend a lot of your time cleaning after your parrot. You must feed your bird only seeds. Variety makes birds healthy. Consider just for a moment: how long do you think you shall remain in good health if your food includes only seeds and water? That goes for the parrots, too. Actually, there is a good rule regarding the birds which says: “If something is good for me, it’s good for my parrot as well”. You should try the system with the three bowls: Fresh water, Fresh fruits and vegetables, packed food, nuts and seeds.
6. Parrots need to take bath regularly. – The origin of most of them coming from the rainforests where they take a shower app. 3 times a week, no matter if they want it or not. The clean water they use is very important for their feathers. Some of them prefer taking a bath under the shower with us, others – to be splashed with water (for example with sprinkler for bedewing flowers) or to be placed under the stream of water in the sink. Often they also prefer taking a bath in a bowl filled with water. You should try each of these methods until you find the preferred way of your parrot for taking a bath.

7. Parrots like to destroy things. – In their natural environment they spend 90% of their day searching for and consuming food. Living in our homes they receive their food without making any effort which results in some need inside them to “rediscover” and fulfil their time, which normally they spend in searching for food. If you don’t provide them regularly with different bird toys they could start to use your furniture for that purpose. Parrot toys are made specially to be ruined. If the toy cannot be destroyed in that point, there is possibility the bird might not be interested in it. It’s recommended to replace the toy with a different one periodically, to avoid the parrot to get bored.

8. The parrots bite. – Sometimes they bite the hand that feeds them and the people they are familiarized with. This is not like a dog’s bite. It’s true, they bite in some cases because of aggression but more often it is a result of fear or anger. Sometimes as a part of their daily communication, they “bite” each other and expect their natural behaviour to be tolerated by us. Biting is one of their means of communication which makes many people feel themselves hurt and ignored by their pets. To state that simply: birds have an ability to communicate perfectly. By biting they say simply: “I don’t like that” and this way of their expression is so effective. People often are not that honest and convicting and tend to be resentful, when someone else or even a bird is more honest in its attitude than us.

9. The parrots are not appropriate pets for kids. – They are not good choice for kid’s pets because of their incredible intellect. They live long and require daily attention and contact with their “human flock”. A kid goes through a lot of changes and phases of his/her style of living (school, marriage, building a family, moving etc.) which makes it almost impossible to keep a life-long relationship with such an intelligent creature as a pet.

No family feels complete without a dog, but what do your children need to know to make certain that having a Pug, will be the best pet for your family? Children need to learn to make sure the dog has plenty of food and fresh water on a daily basis, receives adequate exercise, gets let outside at regular intervals, is treated kindly and does not have access to things they can chew up and ingest. This article is going to explain in detail how your children can learn to mix well with a Pug.

Water and Food:

Every dog needs access to fresh food and water on a daily basis, once your child has learned this, they can help take care of the family pet. Teaching children that a dog needs the right nutrition to grow big and strong, is a great way to teach them the importance of the dogs diet. This talk can be brought up when you are explaining why its important for children to eat their vegetables.

Getting Enough Exercise:

Another factor in keeping your Pug happy and healthy is to make sure he or she gets enough exercise. A dog needs to have regular exercise to help them stay fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle. A game of fetch with a ball or Frisbee is a classic, and a good way to get those little feet moving. Explain to your children that just like a human being, mans best friend needs to stay in shape too.

Outside Breaks:

This is a big part of the responsibility of owning a dog and will not go unnoticed if a someone lets it slide. Explain to children that it is important the dog is let outside to go to the bathroom and it will help them gain a sense of responsibility. A child will come to notice that some things have to be done consistently, and cannot be put off while picking up another skill that will assist them in becoming more independent when it comes to taking care of the family dog.

Playing Nicely:

You need to be extremely gentle with your pets because you do not have any idea how the dog is going to respond, especially a new environment. You should talk to your children about playing nicely and then illustrate this behavior to them. Children are natural mimics and once you show them how you treat a Pug, they will learn how to be gentle from you.

Chewy Dog Toys:

This is a great chance for children to learn about picking up their toys. Pugs cannot always tell the difference between a new chew toy and a childs toy. An honest and frank talk with the children about what can happen when they leave their toys laying around might help you keep the house a bit more tidy, if only because the children do not want the dog chewing up their favorite toys.

The sooner a child learns about the responsibility that comes along with owning a dog, the better the situation will be. They must learn to feed the dog and give it water every day, take the dog for a walk, let it outside regularly, give it adequate attention and provide it with access to toys that are safe to chew on. Teaching children all about these responsibilities will allow them to learn a lot from owning a Pug.

A solid chicken coop-hen house is an absolute must for your yard, if you are considering raising hens. Building a hen house, you must start with the chickens. Hens act really, really annoyed when they are wet. They are vulnerable to diseases, so putting a roof over their heads is important. Hens like safe, enclosed nesting areas so will gravitate to a dark corner. After addressing the needs of your chickens, then you can begin to add elements that make your life easier.

Chickens need an access to fresh water all year round. Use big waterer that holds a gallon of water. Locate it near a water spigot. Electricity is necessary, in order to brood chicks or provide enough light to trick your hens into laying year around. Use a dispenser that generates food each day in a specific portion. Additional dispensers for grit or oyster shell can be useful too. This way you can leave for a weekend without coming home to starving chickens. Hanging feeders are less messy with less waste. If you don't come up with an excellent solution in feeding your chickens automatically, storing the food close by is helpful. You can store the foods in bins or metal garbage cans with tight lids. Then, store them close to or in your hen house.

To prevent predatory birds from harming your young chickens, wild birds from spreading disease, and furry predators and rodents from eating your feed, the coop will need to be completely enclosed with wire netting. Bury the chicken wire around the perimeter of the coop to discourage tunneling rodents. To keep your chickens more safe, they need an enclosure with strong doors, and with strong wire covering the windows.

Think of your chickens just like they were people. No one likes to be too hot, too cold or too damp, and being exposed to extreme conditions that can deteriorate health. It's very important to give your chickens somewhere to live that will keep them protected from harsh elements. In winter, a coop with south facing windows will allow in plenty of sunlight, warming the coop. In summer, the windows allow air flow and ventilation that will help cool the chicken. Birds need a part of the coop shaded so they can get out of the sun. Protecting them from storm and winds, a windbreak will help.

In order for you to easily spread fresh straw in nesting boxes, a bale or two of straw should be stored near the hen house. You'll need a rake or broom nearby for raking up the old straw and sweeping out the hen house (depends on how you build your coop and hen house). If your yard is fenced, letting your hens run free instead of containing them in a coop or chicken run is a wonderful thing. They will eat weeds and leave fertilizer as they work. Also, after they have laid their eggs, let them out of the coop or hen house.

When you go to design or build your coop, consider these design aspects. Having  good plans and instructions in hand, anyone can build a good chicken coop, and building it yourself will save you up to 50% of the cost of buying a coop. Just remember that the best eggs come from comfortable, healthy chickens, and that should be your top priority when it comes to your backyard coop.

What makes survival in fresh water and salt water different?

I know that most sea creatures have to live in saltwater to survive and some have to live in fresh water. Why is this so? Add lots of details, please.

Because there skins and habitat

Aquariums, just like any other part of the environment, need to be kept considerably clean, for aquatic life to keep thriving in them. Many people dislike the idea of having to manually clean the inside of a freshwater aquarium every now and then, so manufacturers have provided them with freshwater aquarium filters that can be installed to do the initial cleaning of the fish tank for them.

How is the water in a fish tank filtered?

An aquarium produces waste materials for a number of reasons. One reason is the biological reactions that take place in the water; these could simply take form of uneaten food that was left to spoil, or by waste materials of the fish themselves. But whatever these waste sources are, there are usually three general ways to remove and clean off these waste materials out of your fish tank.

When we speak of the natural processes involved in filtering the water inside a fish tank, we talk about biological filtration. Beneficial bacteria is the most common and effective agent of this filtering process, being able to break down dangerous toxic materials into less toxic substances.

Synthetic materials that are used to combine with waste materials are the work of a chemical filtration process. These waste materials react with the synthetic material, dissolving it and transforming it into a form that can be collected and thrown afterwards. One good material used for chemical filtration is activated carbon.

Manually trapping solid waste materials in a filter media is a form of mechanical filtration. Although this method does not involve dissolving substances or breaking down materials, it is an effective means of filtering out solid waste out of the fish tank. One thing though... collected material from the filter must be periodically removed by hand, so that it can continue to clean the water continuously.

What are the filters available out there then?

Fresh water aquarium filters are commonly purchased at your local hobby stores, and there are quite a number of these filters that can provide you with one or more of the filtering processes explained above. Take a look at some of the filters used in aquariums.

Power filters are the most common filters used in fish tanks, mostly because they're affordable, are readily available, and quite efficient. They're quite easy to install and use, and maintenance is relatively simple too. This is one of the filters that can actually use all three filtration methods, depending on how you customize the power filter's settings.

Canister filters are among the most powerful filters that you can use. This is because they force the water through the filter media, not just letting it flow through, making the filtration process far more effective in terms of filtration amount per time interval. One disadvantage, though, is that power filters are somewhat difficult to maintain.

Corner filters were the forerunners of the modern filters that are used today. Their basic function is to pass the water through it, and with a proper filter media installed inside, filter the water appropriately. They are very cheap, and are commonly used for hospital tanks. The advent of more effective ways of filtering made the corner filter a lot less popular than what it was before.

Sponge filters, as the name suggests, make use of a sponge for beneficial bacteria to colonize into, setting the filter for biological filtration. They can also, however, filter larger solid particles using the very same sponge. Other versions of the sponge filter include the use of two sponges at the same time, for convenience purposes.
