Many people seeking an energetic dog to be their exercise companion or family playmate are overwhelmed by the energy levels and sheer size of larger breeds. The Pomeranian is an ideal alternative for families with small children, apartment dwellers, or anyone who wants to only spend a fraction of what it would cost to feed a 60lb Labrador Retriever!

Pomeranians are the perfect pet for many environments and families. From the single, city apartment-dweller to a family with several children in the country, the Pomeranian can have a happy home and enrich the lives of those around it. They are cheerful and energetic; they are exemplary of the toy group. They tend to prefer to chew on toys and stay away from your furniture or shoes.

Because of their compact size, Pomeranians are very easy to care for. They rarely require stays at boarding facilities or extended periods home alone, as they are so small they can travel almost anywhere with their owners! They do require weekly brushing to keep their lush hair looking groomed. A small, soft carrier can house your Pomeranian during daily errands or on a long car trip. Typically weighing in at five pounds or less, the Pomeranian is a very portable little pooch and will be happy to travel with you.

The Pomeranian can easily adapt to apartment or condo life so long as it has the opportunity to enjoy local parks or regular long walks. If living in a house with a yard, your Pomeranian will love to run and play in it! If there is ample space indoors, there is no reason you couldn't play fetch or run with your new pup inside, as well. Dog parks are a good option for city-dwelling Pomeranian owners, as most Pomeranians are sociable and enjoy playing with other dogs.

Your Pomeranian will certainly keep up with you throughout your daily activities, whether he or she is accompanying you on errands, going for a morning jog, or chasing your vacuum cleaner across the floor. They love to go for long rides in the car and experience all the sights and sounds of city life. While a Pomeranian will keep bouncing alongside you as long as you are moving, they also enjoy a nice relaxing nap at your side, complete with lots of petting.  They love to please and will make the perfect addition to any family's household.

Vacuum Cleaner Pump
'95 Merc 3.5L engine, What else can I do to get it running?

This engine has a electronic choke, and we can't seem to turn it over and keep it running. We have a charged 12V battery, new terminals, new plugs, Dist. Cap, rotor, cleaned out fuel pump, fuel line, vacuum line, Fuel filter, and it has a newly recod starter/solenoid. After doing all this the boat still won't keep running. We were thinking it might have been the choke, that wasn't properly expanding, but the mechanic stated it was working fine. I do notice without the air cleaner on that the butterfly in the carb is not adjusting which is causing the engine to have too much air in the mix. Please help....
Correction 3.0 liter

1995 Sea ray 17 ft.
I/O Merc 3.0 DEIS

I don't have the Serial Presently working on someone elses boat,
However, looking to also see if there is a way to test the electronic choke to see if it is working properly.

The Carb does not stick and moves freely, when manually adjusting the flow.

Tell me, is this a 3.0L or a 3.7L? Mercruiser did not build a 3.5L, typo? What year? Serial number? Please provide and we will also.

You have an issue with the carb. You have a Mercarb that is made for Mercruiser. With the engine running, the choke plate, butterfly at the top should be mostly closed when cold, then straight up after running for 5 to 10 minutes. If when the choke opens up the motor starts running poorly, then you are not getting enough fuel. If you look down below the carb you will see a funny looking screw in the base of the carb. This is the idle mixture screw. Turn the screw 1/2 turn out CCW and see if it will help the idle when warm. You may also need to add some Mercury Quick clean to the fuel and let that run through the system. If this does not help, the carb will need to be rebuilt. You will need to get the kit from a marine dealer, there are no automotive kits for your carb.

Thanks for providing the additional info, hope this helps.

know that many people have hired people just to clean their pools but this is something that can really add up over time and I really couldn\'t justify spending that much money every year just to have a clean pool. One solution that I did however find that will save both time and money is a robotic pool vacuum because these are much cheaper than hiring a pool boy, although a pool boy may be more fun to look at.

A robotic pool vacuum will even save you money on energy, chemicals, clean up time, and water. So if you do not want to clean your pool yourself a robotic pool vacuum should be a good solution for you.

Once you decide that you want one then the shopping begins. When you shop for a robotic pool vacuum there will be a lot to choose from and your choice will depend on the type of pool you have.

Before you walk into your local pool store it is so important that you know everything that you can about your pool. To begin with, for example, you need to know if you have an in ground or above ground pool.

Each type of pool has a different type of robotic pool vacuum that will work best in it. There are also some special types of robotic pool vacuums that will work on any type of surface whether it is an above ground or in ground pool. Knowing the type of pool and pool surface you have will help you to determine what robotic pool vacuum is right for you.

A lot will depend on the type of pool you have and if you want to go with a suction based cleaner or a return pressure type one. A pressure return cleaner usually has it\'s own debris collection system whereas a suction based one, dumps large debris into your pump basket and the finer stuff directly into your filter. As you can see, a return based cleaner won\'t plug up your pump basket or filter like a suction based one possibly can.

If it\'s concrete, then hands down, a Polaris return based one is best, but also the most expensive. It\'s also helpful if there\'s a dedicated line for it already built into the pool wall and it\'s plumbing runs to your equipment area as well but it\'s possible to rig an over the deck feed for it. You\'ll also be installing it\'s associated booster pump ( one of the primary reasons these are the most expensive). They are generally run on a timer, such that they can be set up in the pool and clean on a schedule. The drawbacks to them, besides expense,is that they do require electricity to run their booster pumps and their initial set up can be a little difficult, but not impossible for an average home owner.

OK, you need to know how to maintain a pool\'s care. What chemicals you need to buy, and how often do to use them.

The best way is to call a pool company, that is if you have plenty of money to pay for this. If not buy one of those pool vacuums that roam all over the pool and keep the dirt and bugs out. You can buy a float device that holds chlorine and dispenses it on a regular basis to keep the proper amount in it. You will also need a PH tester to keep tabs on the PH if it gets to alkaline you shock it with extra chlorine. The tester will come with instructions. Its that easy you can do it yourself.

The filter on the pool can be turned into a vacuum by blocking the main intake and redirecting the intake to a long hose. It is used with a pole and vacuum head to remove debris from the bottom and sides of pool. It is the same as an outside pool.

The vacuum hose can, of course, be plugged into the intake for the filter. The filter takes out the stuff and returns the clean water to the pool. At the end of a set period the filter is cleaned.

what is the best vacuum cleaner to get dog hair out of your carpets?

I have recently rescued an aussie cattle dog, and after years of a fur free home I am struggling to cope with the new hairy-ness of my carpets! They look okay until you get down close and realise that they are now 50% dog and my little daewoo just is not tough enough for the job. Can anyone recommend from experience what the best vacuum cleaner for dog hair is - I would like an upright really. I am assuming that Dysons are the best, but can anyone confirm this or recommend any others? Thank you!

Air Pressure...~......?

how do the following devices make use of air pressure?

1. siphon for transferring gasoline from a tank
2. fountain pen
3.vacuum cleaner
4. water pump

1. Siphon
A siphon (also spelled syphon) is a continuous tube that allows liquid to drain from a reservoir through an intermediate point that is higher, or lower, than the reservoir, the flow being driven only by the difference in hydrostatic pressure without any need for pumping. It is necessary that the final end of the tube be lower than the liquid surface in the reservoir.

2.Fountain Pen
Fountain pens use a highly fluid ink. They rely on a property called capillarity to draw the ink into and through the feed. Capillarity causes the inner surface of the tubes to attract molecules of ink. These ink molecules, in turn, attract other ink molecules, and the feed fills with ink from the pen’s reservoir.
The feed in a fountain pen also includes a number of air passages that lead to the reservoir. These passages allow air to fill the top of the reservoir as ink is drawn from the bottom. Thus the air pressure inside the pet remains equal to the air pressure outside the pen, and the ink flows easily. If the air pressure inside the ink reservoir is lower than the atmospheric pressure outside, the ink will not reach the point and the pen will fail to write. However, if the air pressure over the ink column becomes greater than the air pressure outside the pen, ink will flood out from the front of the pen. To avoid such flooding, fountain pens are designed with a collector. The collector, which is located near the nib, consists of a series of fins and spaces that provide enough additional room to accommodate forward moving ink.

3. Vacuum Cleaner

A vacuum Cleaner's suction is caused by a difference in air pressure. A pump reduces the pressure inside the tube. Atmospheric pressure then pushes the air through the carpet and into the tube, and so the dust is literally pushed into the bag.

4.Water Pump
A pump displaces a volume by physical or mechanical action. One common misconception about pumps is the thought that they create pressure. Pumps alone do not create pressure they only displace fluid causing a flow. Adding resistance to flow causes pressure.

Soon spring will be here and so will the annual chore of opening your swimming pool. Planning ahead can make the job much easier. ThereÂ’s nothing worse than realizing your short one bag of shock when youÂ’re in the middle of prepping the pool. So letÂ’s first make a list of chemicals that you might need.

There will be different needs depending on the type of pool you own, so this list is general. Refer to your pool and pump instructions for additional information.

  • Liquid or powdered Shock
  • Chlorine powder or tablets
  • Bromine
  • pH increase or pH decrease
  • Sanitizing cartridge for cartridge filters
  • A test kit or bottle of test strips to test pH and chlorine levels

Before you run off to your local pool supply store for chemicals, now would be the time to check all of your hoses, clamps, skimmer baskets, gaskets and o-rings. If any of the parts look like they need replacing, take them with you to the pool supply store. ItÂ’s a lot easier to match replacement parts if you have the old part with you.

Now that you have the easy part finished, itÂ’s time to get to work. The first thing required is to get the cover off. Enlist some help for this, as you want to avoid getting any top water into the pool water. If you have an above ground pool, siphon the water off with a hose. If you have an in-ground pool you will need to use a sump pump to remove the top water.

To get a good siphon started, hook up the hose to the spigot and put the other end of the hose into the top water. Turn the hose on for a minute or so to fill it. Next crimp the hose a foot or two away from the faucet, and with your other hand, disconnect the hose from the spigot. Position the hose at a downspout drain to discharge then let go of the crimp. The water will reverse and start to drain.

Once you have the water cleared, use a leaf rake to remove as many leaves and twigs as possible. Next, remove your cover weights or springs. At this time a few people positioned around the pool will help to keep the cover out of the water. Try to fold your cover like a blanket keeping the crud in the middle then remove the cover. You need to scrub the cover thoroughly and properly dry for summer storage.

Now itÂ’s time to attach all the pump hoses. Remember to lube plugs, fittings, valves and o-rings with petroleum jelly. Also be sure to remove any freeze plugs that were used to cover the hose openings. You will most likely need to add water to the pool. It should be filled to the skimmer half way point.

At this point you should start re-circulating the water and check for any leaks around the pump and hoses. Once your pool is leak and drip free, skim off as much floating debris as you can with your skimmer net. Open all your valves to flood the hoses and prime the pool pump. Most manufacturers recommend constantly recirculating the pool water for at least three days. Any crud and debris on the sides and bottom of the pool will need to be scrubbed off. Use the broom attachment of your pool vacuum for this.

After all debris has been removed and the pool has been scrubbed, check your filter for cleaning. Some pumps have removable filters; others are back-flushed, so clean as directed. Once the filter is cleaned, you can now super shock the water as per your manufacturerÂ’s instructions. If you start with green water, you will need a lot more shock. It may take a few days of recirculation to clear the water. Once the water has cleared, test your water or take a sample to your pool supply store and have it analyzed. Adjust the water as required and keep recirculating. All that is left to do now is to wait for the water to warm up so you can start enjoying your pool.
