Aquarium Driftwood

I have a 33 gallon aquarium with live plants and 5 fish.

It's not a new aquarium - I set it up over 5 months ago.

A bunch of my fish got a worm parasite that couldn't be kill (i tired with various meds and a medic tank) and died.

I recently (yesterday) rearranged my entire tank - moved around all the plants and driftwood.

I noticed that the driftwood (I don't know what type it is - it's the very dark brown kind) has a white looking mold in the crack and crevis's. It has a horrible smell too.

Any idea if this is mold??? What should I do about it? I currently have some plants growing off the driftwood so I don't really want to have to take it out to boil it (I'd have to dislodge the plants).

Will it harm my other fish/plants?
