Astek Liquid Cooling System vs. Coolmaster Fan?

I am about to buy a computer from CyberPowerPC and I wanted to know if there is any downside to a liquid cooling system, such as it breaking and ruining my computer. Would the fan I am getting be better. Also which will give me better performance?

There is always a "down side" to everything! Generally, water cooling is considered better than air cooling, however if you dont install it correctly and have a leak, you could destroy your machine. They are sometimes difficult to install and may require modifications to you case. If you are not familiar with this type of installation it would be best to let a Pro do it.With air cooling, if you have a fan failer or the heat sink is not directly on the CPU, or you forget to use a heat control paste...ZAP! you get the message! You don't mention your CPU but i assume its somewere near the 140W type that needs heavy duty cooling! EITHER system will work if installed correctly and proper precautions are taken. The only real difference is the cost and space (some water coolers take up a lot of desk space..almost like having an aquarium behind your computer!)

Are you are looking for a heating system that has an efficient operation at outside temperatures of 17ºF and below without electric backup, quiet operation for both indoors and outdoors, heating and cooling system, and easy to install? Then the ductless heat pump is what you are looking for. 

 

This type of device is appropriate for both replacement of existing heating systems, especially baseboard or wall heaters, and for new construction. This device is proven effective for it has been installed in many commercial buildings for more than 20 years and is available from many manufacturers.  

 

The benefit of using this type of heating system is that they are very efficient. This is because the heated or cooled air is delivered directly to the room. Thus, they avoid efficiency losses associated with ductwork. By using a ductless heat pump, you can save at around 15 to 20% on energy. Another reason is that it has variable speed compressor models or inverter technology. This technology avoids on-off cycling losses and is able to provide usable heat efficiency on all but very cold days. This system also provides heat or cooling to specific areas of the house, thus making it more efficient since each room or zone can be heated to the desired temperature.

 

This type of heating system consists of an outside compressor unit and one or more inside heads that deliver conditioned air to the room or rooms. The inside units of this system are typically mounted high on the wall.

 

However, there are also models that can be recessed in the ceiling or even installed with a short duct run to serve adjacent rooms. The inside and outside units of the ductless heat pump are connected by refrigerant lines that are usually concealed in the walls or ceilings, or under a cover on the outside of the house. There are also models that allow several indoor heads to be connected to a single outside compressor. This type of device also operates on the same principle as traditional heating system. It also uses electricity to move heat between outdoor and indoor air by compressing. 

 

It is sometimes called the mini split heat pump because they tend to have smaller capacity or BTU per hour tonnage rating. In addition, they have a split system with separate compressor (outside) and expansion heat delivery unit or inside units. However, they are similar to traditional heating system but they are not similar to through the wall unit.

 

The most recent advantage of this system is that it uses a newer, less environmentally harmful refrigerant called R-410a. It also only requires a 110 or 220-volt AC power depending on the rated capacity. It has a very quiet oscillating fan that delivers conditioned air more evenly to all parts of the room. They also provide a dehumidification of the indoor air.

 

The ductless heat pump is most appropriate for homes with open floor plans, since each indoor head can serve the entire zone not blocked by doorways. In addition, it can be used to replace an existing zonal heating system. It can also be used to rooms, which is added to a house or an attic is converted to living space. By using this, you will not need to extend your home's existing ductwork or pipes or add electric resistance heaters since it can provide efficient heating and cooling. The ductless heat pump is a cost effective way of providing your home the heating and cooling it needs.
